Senior Outside Sales Representative

Job Description
Spectrum Systems, Inc. is seeking a successful Outside Sales Representative that will be instrumental in driving Spectrum’s revenue growth.

Qualified candidates will have extensive experience selling either “stand- alone” or “product required” professional technical services and sophisticated software business case, integration and development services to federal government clients. Experience selling services bundled with hardware or software constitutes applicable experience. Having experience forming partnerships with systems integrators currently doing business within the public sector space is strength, but not a requirement.

To be successful in this role the candidate must have an in-depth understanding and experience with solution selling in the federal space. A candidate must also show proven and consistent success in quota attainment and maintaining a high performance pipeline or opportunities. Experience selling Mercury, Compuware or Computer Associates level solutions and Lifecycle/enterprise solutions or network infrastructure or network security solutions and services is a plus. This opportunity is requires a “hunter” approach to sales. Qualified candidates will have experience opening new markets and positioning a company’s services to “unfarmed” and current clients, along with utilizing existing Spectrum client/customer database.

Experience
This position requires:

  • Proven track record of consistent solution selling to Federal DoD and/or civilian agencies
  • 10+ years proven success in a sales role within professional services/solution provider industry, including extensive experience selling solutions-oriented services to Public Sector clients
  • Experience selling infrastructure technology solutions
  • In depth understanding of the federal RFP and procurement process
  • Extensive network of contacts with decision makers within Federal space
  • Experience forming sub/prime relationships with currently established Federal contractors
  • Highly strategic/scientific sales approach and proactive sales generation with demonstrated agency penetration and existing account expansion capabilities
  • Highly successful negotiation and closing skills
  • Proactively keeps current of new technologies, industry trends and new ITG, EA and Security solutions and effectively applies them to sales strategies and business relationships
  • Understanding of financial metrics (I.e. margin) to meet company targets

Educational Requirements
Degree or equivalent highly desirable
