Product Solutions

PROCESSexchange

ProcessExchange® develops software products that aid in the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Our products are designed with a singular vision — to help businesses get what they want in software applications by integrating business-driven process into software development practice and optimizing software development practice to respond to business interests. Consequently, our products lower the cost and risk of development and increase software quality by integrating the people, processes, and tools of the various software development disciplines. ProcessExchange® specializes in and integrates across the disciplines of Requirements Development & Management, Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture & Design, Software Development, and Software Quality & Testing. ProcessExchange® also develops products for agile software project management.

ProcessExchange Req-X™

ProcessExchange Req-X™ is the only specific reuse solution available for software requirements. Req-X™ enables organizations to define, refine, and reuse software requirements assets, so that businesses can garner ongoing component improvement and lower application development costs.

By interfacing with existing requirements applications and creating reusable software feature and component definitions, this task-based application guides business analysts and software architects on reuse methodology by enabling visualization of requirement relationships, permitting identification of requirement groups, and supporting collaboration among disparate systems and stakeholders.

ProcessExchange Trace-X™

ProcessExchange Trace-X™ is the most effective solution on the market for providing traceability across software development assets. As the only product in the world that ties requirements from Telelogic DOORS® to models from Borland Together®, Trace-X™ enables organizations to determine and analyze the impact of contemplated software changes and enhancements, thus permitting more accurate assessments of cost, risk, and resource needs for informed decision-making.

By attaching software requirements to model elements, Trace-X™ enhances collaboration and the quality of communication between systems engineers (business analysts) and software architects, so that software development activity aligns with business stakeholder vision, is more efficient, leads to higher software quality, and lowers long-term application maintenance costs.

Future instances of this solution will integrate other modeling and requirements management tools via additional sets of plug-ins that install into respective products. ProcessExchange® was selected by Telelogic and Borland to develop this integration solution for their common customers, who would otherwise have no means to achieve efficient impact analysis and stakeholder collaboration.

Trace-X™ Features

  • Enables DOORS traces from model element to requirement (or from requirement to model element)
  • Enables navigation of traces:
    • from DOORS® requirement through DOORS surrogate (replica) element to Together model element.
    • from Together® model element to DOORS surrogate (replica) model element to DOORS requirement.
  • Enables identification of unmodeled or untraced requirements
  • Enables identification of model elements without requirements
  • Enforces model-requirements synchronization (e.g., prevents deletion on one side without other)

Trace-X™ Benefits

  • Keeps models and requirements in sync
  • Ensures that requirements-to-model tracing is complete and accurate
  • Provides transparency for software development
