Reliant HA
High Availability Clustering Solutions
ReliantHA is a clustering solution for enterprises requiring high
levels of application and data availability. Businesses today
are increasingly dependent on large servers to support their
information processing needs, and any interruption in these
services can be enormously expensive. ReliantHA increases the
overall availability of applications and critical data by
connecting multiple servers together as nodes within a single
high-availability fail-over cluster. Applications do not need to
be aware of the operation of the cluster, and all nodes within
the cluster may be used simultaneously for processing.
ReliantHA extends the high performance, Reliability,
Availability and Scalability (RAS) characteristics of the
UnixWare server operating system editions to provide continuous
monitoring and fault detection of applications, resources, and
entire nodes. In the event of a failure, automated recovery
scripts are initiated to enable rapid or transparent restoration
of services, depending on the application. Recovery actions
include the unattended restart of resources, switching to
alternative data paths, or migrating services to other systems
within the cluster. Once a failed node has been replaced or
repaired it may be returned to service in the active cluster. A
graphical Configuration Manager provides a single point of
control for the entire cluster.
ReliantHA is ideal for increasing the availability of business
critical applications such as transaction processing, database,
web, file and print services.

Merge 5
DOS/Windows Interoperability
NeTraverse Merge 5.3 provides customers with the powerful
capability of utilizing Windows ® ME, Windows 98, and DOS ® applications
concurrently with their mission critical UNIX ® business applications on
SCO OpenServer ™ Release 5, or UnixWare ® 7 platforms. This allows
customers to reduce their overall infrastructure investment by minimizing
the number of servers and desktop workstations in their environment. With
fewer servers and desktop platforms, customers can not only reduce the
amount of money they spend on hardware, but also lower the Total Cost of
Ownership (TCO) by having fewer platforms to administer. NeTraverse Merge
5.3.x, which can now be installed on UnixWare 7.1.2 and UnixWare 7.1.3
systems as well on SCO OpenServer 5.0.7 and 5.0.6 systems, includes the
following features:
- Support for Windows ME, Windows 98 (including Windows 98
Second Edition and Windows 98 Upgrade), Windows 95, and DOS operating
systems along with many DOS and Windows applications.
- Support for Microsoft Windows VNET Networking on SCO
OpenServer systems, allowing SCO Merge users, UNIX users and native
Microsoft Windows systems to share files and print facilities via the
Microsoft ® Windows Network Neighborhood.
- Support for current web browsers such as Microsoft
Internet Explorer 5 and 6 as well as versions 4.x, 6.x and 7 of Netscape
Communicator ™. A wide variety of personal and office productivity tools
such as Microsoft Office 2000 ™ and Outlook ™ are also supported.
- Support for audio playback including use of several
popular Windows audio playback applications when configured in conjunction
with the OSS sound drivers for UNIX from 4Front Technologies. (The OSS
sound drivers are not included with NeTraverse Merge and must be purchased
separately from 4Front Technologies.) Information regarding 4Front
Technologies is available on the World Wide Web at:
http://www.4front-tech.com
- "Zoomless" installation of Windows. A UNIX console is not
required to be present during the installation of Windows. This increases
not only the ease of installation but also enables Windows to be installed
on Merge from a remote X-client device.
Advanced File and Print Server
SCO® Advanced File and Print Server adds Microsoft® networking
technology to SCO UnixWare 7.1.3, SCO UnixWare 7.1.1 and OpenServer
5.0.7 to form a network operating system that is fully compatible
with Windows NT Server.
With support for MS-DOS®, OS/2® and Windows® clients, Advanced
Server can be used as a simple file and print server for a small
community of users, or as the foundation for a large distributed
network.
With Advanced Server, SCO delivers the full features of a
business-critical server to the workgroup computing environment,
where Windows has emerged as the de facto standard desktop.
UnixWare 7 Disk Mirroring 3.2
UnixWare 7 Disk Mirroring provides increased data
availability by providing fault tolerance against disk failures
and faster access via software RAID Level 1 (simple disk
mirroring). By adding a second disk to the system and enabling
Disk Mirroring, administrators will automatically have access to
their business-critical data should one disk fail. Designed to
work with off-the-shelf disk storage subsystems, UnixWare 7 Disk
Mirroring provides a very cost-effective high-availability data
storage solution.
UnixWare 7 Online Data Manager 3.2
UnixWare 7 Online Data Manager 3.2 is a cost-effective,
enterprise-class storage management solution for high
availability and online volume management. It provides software
RAID Levels 0, 1, 5, 10 (striping, mirroring, striping with
distributed parity and striped mirroring) as well as disk
spanning capabilities. It includes a graphical Visual
Administrator for exceptional ease-of-use and supports online
filesystems resizing, migration and RAID level modifications.

control those who may send and receive Internet e-mail. In addition,
your traveling or offsite workforce may send and receive e-mail securely
from anywhere in the world. Viruses, SPAM, and Security
SCOoffice Server stops e-mail viruses, filters out junk e-mail, and
secures remote access. Because SCOoffice includes server-side antivirus
protection, it stops viruses before they reach desktop systems. With the skyrocketing cost of receiving, storing, and processing junk
e-mail, SPAM blocking is a must. The built-in SCOoffice Server SPAM
filters make blocking junk e-mail effortless. If you have an offsite or a traveling workforce, then secure access is
essential. SCOoffice Server lets your offsite workforce securely
collaborate and use e-mail from anywhere in the world. Real-time Collaboration
SCOoffice delivers real-time collaboration for scheduling group
meetings, sharing contact lists, and managing group tasks. Instead of
calling people to find available meeting times, simply select those to
attend and schedule the meeting immediately. If your workforce needs to schedule resources and equipment such as
conference rooms and projectors, then that's no problem. SCOoffice
Server eliminates the need to make a dozen phone calls to schedule a
single meeting.
The built-in collaboration software enables shared contact lists,
folders, journals, notes, and group task lists. The SCOoffice Server
solution helps any office collaborate and work more efficiently.
Microsoft Outlook, Web Browsers, and E-mail Readers
